Possible life on another planet....again

The planet is named K2-18B and is 124 light years from Earth. It is 2.5 times larger than earth and is in the "Goldilocks Zone", (its temperature allows liquid water to be present), of its star. This planet is classified as a Hycean world, meaning it is likely to be covered in a liquid ocean and has a hydrogen rich atmosphere.

The James Webb Telescope is able to analyze the chemical composition of the planet's atmosphere by focusing on the light that passes through it from the star it orbits. The James Webb found, (among other things), molecules of dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide in K2-18B's atmosphere. On Earth these molecules are produced primarily by marine organisims.

This is not proof that there is life of some kind on K2-18B. It is strong evidence for it.

The more we learn about our universe the more evidence we find for the possibility of life outside Earth. Will we eventually confirm there is life elsewhere? Well, in my humble opinion---IF IT WALKS LIKE A DUCK AND QUACKS LIKE A DUCK..........

Keep asking questions,

Pat.
